Owner: Andrew Ranger
Name: Lost Soldier (Soldier)
Age: 5
Breed: Dutch Warmblood
Gender: Gelding
Height(Hands High): 16.1
Picture or Appearance: www.sportingchancefarm.com/peggy_canter.jpg
Personality/Temperament: Soldiar is a true gentleman. He is always very willing to work, and please his rider as much as possible. He is still very young and not very well trained. He sometimes doesn't know what you are asking him to do, but he really tries his best to figure it out. He was only gelded 6 months ago, so still has a stallion temperment. He chases after mares, and fights other horses for them. He is not good out in the pasture with others unless they are true barn mates. He is also very spooky. As some people say he would spook at the wind if iit blew the wrong direction. You never know what will set him off. He has a big spook as well. Not just a little jump sideways, no. He will rear up and buck sideways, then take off at a gallop. Sometimes not as bad, it depends on who is riding, and what scared him.
History: He was born on the farm Drew started riding on. He was born only a month after Drew got there, and Drew was one of the people to be at his birth. Drew watched the young colt grow threw the years. Due to lack of time and a fight over who the owner was(the mare belonged to a couple who got divorced and couldnt decide who her baby would go to) the colt was started off late. He was basicly left in a field his first two years of life, not much human contact. When he was two, the owner was finally decided and the lady came and started fully taking care of the mare and her colt. At first soldiar was scared to death of humans. Shying away keeping his nose locked onto his mother for protection. The lady finally got him halter broke, and he slowly calmed down. Drew watched the lady work with the wild colt and soon he asked questions about his training. Why the lady did this, why she did that. She was very patient and explained everything clearly. Drew soon started working with him as well. Together they saddle broke him, then started him on the lunge line, and the lady started riding him. When he turned 5 the lady put him up for sale, and Drew negotiated with her price and he was his. He is now trained for w/t/c, and fences at about 2'. Drew hopes he would settle down and become a good event horse.
Discipline: Eventing(prospect). Hunter or Equitation horse.
Experience(Green/Intermediate/Expert): Green-Intermediate.
