Mustang
Gender:
Stallion
Height:
15.1hh

Personality/Temperament:
Feisty is a one-woman horse. He formed a bond with Riley when she refused to believe that he would never be anything but wild. He loves her and would do anything for her. With other people, he can be tricky and moody. With other people, he nips, kicks and misbehaves in general. If reprimanded forcefully, his actions just get worse.
A true stallion, Feisty gets up-headed and unruly, even with Riley at times. He is stubborn and willful when Riley's on his back. Only with great patience and love, Riley has gotten him to the point where he goes fairly well for her. There are still some kinks to work out.
History:
Born in the wild, Feisty's first year is unknown. He was a few months over a year when he stumbled badly during a spring round-up. He tore a ligament in his left foreleg. The injury wasn't life-threatening, but it was certainly painful. Riley had watched the round-up from a distance, but refused to take part.
Later, as she exercised one of the cattle driving horses, she found Feisty. It took nearly an hour, but she managed to slip an old rope halter over his head. She then lead him home, tying him up in a small box stall. Using a small amount of grain as a distraction, she quickly wrapped his leg, to help it heal.
After her father agreed to let her try and train him, she had moved Feisty to a large paddock. She let him get used to the fact that he was now contained for a month or so, then started getting him used to her.
After several months of tears, sweat and a little blood, she had finally gained the growing colt's trust. She could now go int the paddock and touch his body all over with her hands. It was another few months of hard work until she could do the same with just about any other object. Now, he trusts her completely.
When she first decided to ride him, a little under a year ago, Feisty had done nothing but throw her off for a month straight. But, she never gave up, determined to ride her rescue. The only time she ever had to stop riding for a while was the major setback when he had thrown her into a fence, breaking her wrist.
Once her injury healed, she was right back up in the saddle. It took another few weeks until he finally stopped trying to throw her off. He now goes quietly, except when he hits a moody spot and gets willful.
